Probably the Fastest Growing Terminal Sire in Europe.......
In this challenging era of rising fixed costs, performance in the growing and finishing stages has never been more important. The choice of Terminal sire can have a dramatic effect on efficiency and unit performance.
The 'Hylean Maxgro'T was introduced by Hermitage late last year and the performance of the progeny on Irish units has been fantastic. The Maxgro Terminal Line is specifically designed to maximize growth, ADG and Feed Conversion in the progeny. Independently evaluated by the French Ministry of Agriculture, the progeny of the Maxgro grew on average 65g/day faster than their nearest rivals.
Carcass measurements and primal yields have also been impressive and the progeny of the Maxgro are renowned for their vigour and viability. The Hylean Maxgro is an ideal terminal sire for production of heavy slaughter weight pigs with unrivalled growth potential and carcass yields. Carcass evaluation has demonstrated the high muscle yield in the main primal cuts of the belly, shoulder, ham and loin making this sire ideally suited to the Irish fresh pork market.
Customers have also been very impressed with the viability of the progeny with many producers stating that they can 'identify the Maxgro sired pigs easily' during all stages of production due to their increased growth rate. Hermitage only select the very best tested boars to enter AI, and the current Maxgro boars averaged 124 days to 100Kgs on performance test.
